New Albany was founded in 1837 with it’s foundation in farming and mills. It was largely a rural community when Les Wexner ( CEO of Limited Brands) bought large tracts to start a community and build his own home.. The New Albany Company was formed and worked with land use planners, architects, and developers to set standards for the community. They chose a Georgian theme which sets New Albany apart from other communities.
